There are no failures

It isn’t always easy to give honest feedback, even if someone would benefit from hearing it. It’s much easier to agree with them, tell them everything is great, and deliver positive feedback even if it is not accurate.

So today I am hugely grateful for the feedback, from a very close friend, that the reason very few people have been keen to join my new wellbeing community is largely because the market is so saturated.

In an age where we receive so many demands on our time, and so many companies are trying to get our attention, for us to notice and then spend time on something, it needs to stand out and offer something different, and of huge value.

The reason people have not been joining the network, even though it is currently free, is because it does not meet that criteria. It would have been nice to have had guest speakers each month that people joined the network to see, but without any budget, that is not possible.

When a project is costing you more to run than the income it is generating, it is time to have a re-think. That’s the point I am at now.

It is a huge relief to have reached this point now and not months down the line when I’ve put hours of time into something that was never going to work. In the past I have lost a lot of money on businesses that never performed as I hoped they would. I cannot afford to make that mistake again.

I still want to have something that is mine, but I need to have a re-think as to what that is. There are no failures, there are only results. And from those results we learn.
